BJP State Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi along with State Spokesman Balbir Ram Rattan today said that militancy and separatism are being effectively controlled in the state since the PDP – BJP alliance formed government in Jammu & Kashmir.
“Though efforts are being made by vested elements to create trouble in state to destabilize PDP-BJP coalition government but all such efforts have failed because of timely and effective handling by state government”, said Chief Spokesperson.
In a Press conference held at party headquarters,Sunil Sethi said that there should be no room for third party interference or consultation for holding talks between India and Pakistan on border issues.
“Dialogue can take place only between both countries as per Shimla Agreement and involving any person or organization within or outside India is not acceptable”, he said adding that there is no role of Hurriyat Conference or any other separatist organization in any such talks.
Sethi said that the talks can take place between two countries to resolve dispute of borders and across LoC firing as also of Pakistan support to terrorists and separatists in India especially J&K. The issue of illegally occupied territory of J&K by Pakistan is also to be settled between two countries. Pakistan’s attempts to involve Hurriyat Conference is only to give legitimacy or importance to it which is unacceptable.
Sethi further welcomed the statement of PDP President that there is no role of Hurriyat Conference in border talks between India and Pakistan. He criticized Congress for making statement against the spirit of Shimla Agreement and said that Congress is playing politics at the cost of national interests, which is indeed unfortunate and the BJP condemns it in strong words.
