Ghulam Nabi Azad- Jammu-GMC

Why Omar Abdullah’s name always given a miss on important occasions?

On June 25, 2013 when UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh  visited Kishtwar to lay foundation stone of the 850 MW Rattle Hydroelectric project  Chief Minister Omar Abdullahs name was not included on the plaque.  Omar  was not only  present on the occasion as Chief Minister but also as Minister-in-charge, Power, and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (PDC).

Interestingly, the names of  Prime Minister and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi found mention on the decorative wooden plaque in the middle of the ground.

A day later, Omar had to face piquant situation when identical inscription at the inauguration of a railway station at Banihal on June 26 carried the same two names.

On Monday when Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad inaugurated the Super Speciality Hospital in the company of Union Minister Dr Faroq Abdullah name of Omar Abdullah was once again found missing from the ornamental plaque in the hospital complex. Interestingly, names of Congress MP’s were written on the plaque but Omar’s name was found missing.
