Omar who arrived here in Jammu last evening ahead of meeting of the District Development  Board took exactly seven days time to share his happiness with Shubham.

Minutes before the start of the District Development Board meeting at 10.30 a.m at the official residence of Chief Minister in Jammu, Omar tweeted, “Arrived in Jammu to chair a meeting, heard the news about Shubam Khajuria playing for India Under 19. Congratulations to him, hope he shines”.

Omar’s silence and absence of any congratulatory message had left a bad taste among cricket lovers and people of Jammu region.

No one else but Omar himself is to be blamed for creating a piquant situation.

On one hand he tweeted in real time after Parvez Rasool was selected for the Indian cricket team for the Zimbabwe tour and also spoke to him on telephone and shared the news on his twitter account.

But when Shubham Khajuria was selected for the Under 19 Indian cricket team he was found missing in action much to the chagrin of his followers on the twitter as well.

Interestingly, Omar tweeted two days after President of the JKCA Dr Farooq Abdullah announced a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh for the young cricketer from Jammu.

Earlier in the day PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti along with party general secretary and few local leaders wished him at his residence and said the youngsters like Parvez Rasool and Shubham have shown to the competitive world given an opportunity they too can perform and deliver results at par with any other international player.
