Three Jammu based Jawans killed in fratricide in Poonch

In a fresh case of fratricidal killing an army jawan Sunday killed two colleagues including a JCO at a forward post along the line of control in Poonch.

All three deceased jawans belonged to 17 JAKLI.
The army has ordered a court of Inquiry to ascertain the facts of the incident.
According to official sources two jawans posted along the forward post in Poonch locked themselves in a verbal dual. As situation took an ugly turn JCO rushed to the spot and made an attempt to resolve the issue.
Instead of paying attention to his JCO Naik Darshan Lal in a fit of anger opened fire on his colleagues from his service weapon at the forward post and killed Havaldar Ranjot Singh and JCO Chamel Singh.
Defence PRO in Jammu said a soldier deployed along the line of control shot at two of his colleagues and later shot himself dead around 13.15 hours. He said senior army officers  have been rushed to the spot and a court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the facts.
