Pak rangers pounded over one dozen BOPs along IB in Jammu frontier

Heavy exchange of firing  between BSF and Pak rangers was reported from across one dozen border outposts along the International border in Jammu frontier late sunday evening forcing the border residents in the direct line of fire to shift to safer places. According to official sources, Pak rangers violated the ceasefire agreement at least five times in different sectors along the IB triggering fresh wave of panic in the border areas. 200 villagers shifted to safer places in Samba fearing fresh escalation

Fearing fresh escalation of tension between the two neighboring countries at least 200 members of Suchetgarh village in Samba district saturday evening decided to shift to safer places. The shifting of border villages was necessitated following reports of fresh flare up of tension in the area. The families were advised by the BSF jawans to shift to safer locations in time before it is too late.  The majority of families, however, decided to leave behind one male member of their family to look after the live stock and their valuables and houses.  According to official sources the villagers were camping in the community hall in Samba while about 100 people were staying with their relatives in and around Samba.

BSF carrying out repair work of border fence to plug routes of Infiltration

After remaining in a state of denial that the three fidayeen had managed to sneak inside the Indian territory taking advantage of the open spaces through gaps in the rivulets along the International border the BSF has started repair work of the damaged border fence to plug in the ingress routes. According to official sources, the BSF men had started carrying out the repair work immediately after it was detected that the fidayeen may have taken advantage of the long patches where border fence was washed away on account of flash floods. The white lies propagated by the MoS Health Shabir Ahmad Khan have been completely exposed as the family members of the deceased girl,Pooja, who died due to Dengue on September 29, have produced hospital records of her admission and treatment she received in the govt hospital before she was shifted to a private hospital in Pathankot. ₹ 5 crore plan to preserve Historic Samba Fort

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said a detailed project report has been prepared for preservation of historic Samba Fort in the state which will cost ₹ 4.95 crores. A detailed project report has been prepared to develop Samba Fort as a prominent place of tourist attraction, said Housing, Horticulture and Culture minister Raman Bhalla. Raman Bhalla has said that a detailed project report of ₹ 4.95 crore has been prepared for preservation of the historical Samba Fort which was constructed by Maharaja Suchet Singh in 1822 and develop it as a prominent place of tourist attraction. Pak Rangers, BSF men offer Peace Prayers at Baba Chamliyal Shrine

Notwithstanding tension along the line of control  gathering of more than two lakh devotees of Baba Chamliyal on either side of the Indo-Pak International border in Ramgarh sector near Samba, Thursday paid obeisance at the famous shrine. 3.7 kg cannabis recovered, two smugglers arrested in Samba

Two narcotic smugglers were arrested and 3.7 kgs of cannabis was recovered from their possession in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. During checking, police intercepted a SUV, which was on its way from Srinagar to Punjab, at Mansar in Samba district late last night, police said here today. During checking of the vehicle, 3.7 kgs of cannabis was recovered and smugglers identified as Mohammad Iqbal Dar and Ali Mohammad Gojri were arrested, they said, adding a case under NDPS Act was registered against them.
