Even as talks between the PDP and BJP over the issue of govt formation have reached advance stage PDP spokesman Naeem Akhtar saturday clearly hinted there are still some issues left which need more effort and time before they are resolved. BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav today said no time frame could be fixed for installation of the PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir as talks for common minimum programme (CMP) for the governance was yet to be finalised. Admitting that the RSS and other frontal organisations were kept in the loop for ongoing discussions, Mr Madhav, an interlocutor for talks with the PDP, said issues like Article 370 and Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) were also being discussed. Mufti Sayeed meets NN Vohra, discusses government formation and security situation

Amid the continuing political stalemate, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra apparently to discuss a way out, two days after his party turned down National Conference’s offer of support. The meeting took place at Raj Bhawan on Friday night but details were not known. “They had a two-hour dinner meeting and are understood to have discussed government formation and political stalemate in the state. The details of the meeting are not known,” the source said. PDP spokesperson Nayeem Akhtar said he was not aware about what transpired in the meeting. Campaigning ended today for the fourth phase of Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, which will see voting on 18 seats with a total of 182 candidates in the fray, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
