Panic gripped the bordering RS Pura belt here when a passenger plane of Thai Airways entered the Indian territory. The officials from the Ministry of Defence, however, said it was not an ‘airspace violation’ by the neighbouring Pakistan. “Farmers working in the fields at around 0955 hrs noticed a plane entering the Indian skies from Pakistan side, which triggered a panic button,” sources here told UNI. 2 shepherds, who, inadvertently entered into the Indian side have been repatriated to the Pakistan today. The two were sent back by Army troops today via Chakkan-da-Bagh on Line of Control in Poonch district. “The Army troops yesterday apprehended the duo when they inadvertently crossed over to this side of the border in Keri Sector of Poonch,” defence spokesman here said. He said Indian Army on humanitarian ground and goodwill gesture returned these two individuals after ascertaining their identities to Pakistan Army this afternoon at Chakkan-da-Bagh. “The persons repatriated have been identified as Mohammad Shabir and Maulavi Said,” said the spokesman. Jammu: Pak prisoner Showkat Ali committed suicide in the wee hours

A Pakistani inmate today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside the barrack in district jail Ambphalla in this winter capital of the State, police sources here said. “Pak prisoner identified as Showkat Ali, (42), resident of Sialkote, Pakistan this morning during wee hours at around 0300 hrs hanged himself inside the jail premises and ended his life,” police sources here said. According to official sources, “the tourist traffic to Octroi post is almost zero or negligent” these days owing to prevailing security situation.
