Pakistan violated ceasefire 192 times along IB in J&K this year

Pakistan violated ceasefire 192 times along the International Border(IB) in Jammu and Kashmir till July 26 this year, government told Lok Sabha today, adding that measures have been put in place for “immediate and effective retaliation” to such provocations. The House was also informed that the Centre proposes to have a provision for giving Rs 5 lakh compensation, in addition to what the state government pays, to the families of those who get killed in firing from across the border. 2 arrested, 3 detained for allegedly aiding captured terrorist Mohd Naved

At least two persons have been arrested and three others detained for allegedly helping Mohammed Naved Yakub, a Pakistani terrorist of Lashker-e-Taiba who had ambushed a BSF convoy near Udhampur on Wednesday. The arrests followed interrogation by central security agencies of Yakub, who was caught alive by villagers after the Wednesday attack in which two BSF constables were killed. Nearly a dozen people were being examined by the agencies based on details provided by Naved, a 23-year-old Pakistani national hailing from Faislabad in Pakistan. Mufti Sayeed blames media for creating hype on the issue of raising Pak flags

Modi Govt says won’t allow anti-national activities


Days after Pakistani flags were displayed in Kashmir by some separatists, the government today asserted in Lok Sabha that it will not allow anti-national activities even as it expressed readiness to have dialogue with those who eschew violence. Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary, while replying to questions, said all anti-national activities are firmly dealt with and stringent action taken. “The government is committed to ensure that no anti-national activities take place which destabilises the situation in Jammu & Kashmir with consequences across the country,” he said in a written reply.
