Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Wednesday did some tough posturing saying it was impossible for India to normalise its relations with Pakistan till the neighboring country does not stop infiltration and ceasefire violations. Omar also lashed out at the media for creating a hype over  infiltration in Keran sector and comparing it with Kargil ingress. The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday took the wind out of the sails of separatist forces and several mainstream political leaders spreading a campaign against the village defence committees for a long time by announcing on the floor of the house that there is no proposal to disband Village Defence Committees (VDCs), operating in parts of the Jammu region since September 1995. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi flew to Amethi on Saturday and attended the cremation ceremony of IAF personal Akhilesh Pratap Singh who was one among the 20 rescue workers killed in the rescue chopper crash  in Kedarnath on Tuesday.
