J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah may have complimented the security forces for their swift response and containing the damage but the senior police authorities are a worried lot. In a span of six months the heavily armed group of fidayeens have exposed the ‘security bandobast’ and penetrated deep inside the borders to launch an audacious terror strike at the behest of their handlers in Pakistan. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad today filed his nomination papers for Udhampur-Doda parliamentary constituency. Mr Azad, accompanied by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, JKPCC Chief Saif-ud-Din Soz and other senior leaders from Congress and National Conference filed his nomination papers. BJP candidate Jitendra Singh, JKNPP candidate Bhim Singh and others had already filed their nominations for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat. Scrutiny of nominations for Udhampur parliamentary Constituency will be held on March 27 while last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 29. Voting will be held on April 17. After remaining in a state of denial that the three fidayeen had managed to sneak inside the Indian territory taking advantage of the open spaces through gaps in the rivulets along the International border the BSF has started repair work of the damaged border fence to plug in the ingress routes.
