With the US distancing itself on Kashmir issue, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the absence of a third party does not absolve India of its responsibility to find a solution to the problem. “The absence of 3rd party intervention doesn’t absolve India of its responsibility to find a solution…,” Mr Abdullah wrote on social networking site Twitter, referring to US State Department Spokesperson John Kirby’s statement on the issue today. Cabinet discusses PM’s Rs 80000 cr Reconstruction Plan for J&K


The Cabinet which met here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed discussed the Reconstruction Plan for J&K amounting to Rs 80068 Crore announced by the Prime Minister on 7th November, 2015. The Reconstruction Plan covers sectors like humanitarian relief, crisis management, social infrastructure, development projects and economic infrastructure aimed at expanding the economic infrastructure and basic services, providing thrust to employment and income generation and providing relief and rehabilitation to the victims of September 2014 floods and to strengthen the Disaster Management framework of the state. Pakistan interfering in mobile phone operations in Jammu & Kashmir: Aircel

Pakistan is resorting to cellular interference in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir and operators working in the state have taken up the issue with the Centre, a leading telecom company said on Thursday. “We have highlighted the issue with the government and the government is supporting us on that. There is the issue of interference and the government will find a solution to it shortly,” Anil Gupta, Regional Business Head, North, Aircel, said. Army Commander apprises J&K Governor on security situation

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, Lt Gen DS Hooda today called on Governor N N Vohra and apprised him of the security situation in the State. The State Police today ruled out any influence of Islamic State in Kashmir Valley in the wake of terror attacks claimed by the global terror outfit in Paris. “We do not find any ISIS ideology (being followed) in Jammu and Kashmir,” Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, K Rajendra Kumar told reporters here today. Pro-Pakistan leaders detained ahead of Geelani’s rally


Several separatist leaders were allegedly detained ahead of hardline Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s planned rally coinciding with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 7.
