JKNRHM releases ₹ 6 crores for Amarnath yatris’ medicare

The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), J&K, has released an amount of over Rs. 6 crore to Director Health Services, Kashmir, Director Health Services, Jammu and Director, ISM to ensure better healthcare facilities to Amarnath pilgrims during this year’s yatra.The doctors from the state and other parts of the country, who have volunteered to provide their services during the yatra will be provided with special incentives. To further add to healthcare services for Amarnath pilgrims, NRHM J&K has provided funds for purchase of equipments, drugs & supplies, creating temporary infrastructure including shelter for medical officers, furniture etc besides incentives to the doctors and paramedics. Taking a stance of the recent order passed by the Central Information Commission to include National political parties under the ambit of RTI Act, the activists of Sangarsh RTI Movement Sd. Army vehicle targeted in Anantnag grenade blast, 7 people including policeman injured

Even as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has not stopped raising the demand for revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from peaceful districts of the state the militant commanders have started regularly targeting army vehicles and security installations in Kashmir valley. With in a gap of 48 hours a second incident of grenade blast was reported in Anantnag on Tuesday raising many an eyebrows in the security establishment. Third State Level ToT on J&K RTI Act addressed by Wajahat Habibullah

The commonwealth Human Rights Initiative organized in collaboration with Sangarsh RTI movement Jammu, a two day training of trainers programme at Institute of Engineers, Gandhi Nagar on the J&K RTI ACT 2009. The purpose of the ToT was to prepare trainers and encourage the use of the J&K RTI Act. Over a period of two days, representatives of CHRI and Sangarsh RTI movement explained to the participants all the provisions of J&K RTI ACT and rules. The explanation was followed by discussion on the questions and issues raised by the participants. Spurious drug scam: Crime Branch cracks down; One arrested, two still at large

A day after the state government handed over the case of supply of spurious drugs to various state govt hospitals the Crime Branch Sunday arrested one out of the three accused persons allegedly involved in supplying spurious drugs. Crime Branch also booked M/S Life Line Pharmaco Surgicals under fraud and criminal conspiracy case. According to official sources, ” Crime Branch has arrested Ashok Kumar Raina and taken him into the custody for questioning. Handicrafts Dept. distributed 4.04 cr stipend to trainees; got vanished, no jobs created: CAG

The latest CAG report has revealed that the Handicrafts department distributed a stipend of more than 4 crore to over 14000 trainees but they vanished soon after defeating the sole purpose of creating jobs for the unemployed youth between 2007-2012 in the state. According to the CAG report, “between 2007-12 over 14000 youth were enrolled from eight districts of the state for receiving training but they left the training half way and did not adopt craft as a profession after receiving stipend amounting to Rs 4.04 crore”.
