Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla has said that Government is taking up several steps to develop Bahu Fort area, which is among the fast emerging pilgrim and tourist destinations in the State. The Minister was speaking at a high level meeting held at Bahu Fort Guest House, here today. For boosting tourism in Bahu Fort area, the Minister said that Government has submitted a detailed project report of Rs. 5 crore to Central Government for installation of laser show on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi at Bahu Fort, adding that the project could be installed after approval by Union Tourism Ministry. J&K Academy of Art Culture & Languages to hold Jammu Heritage Exhibition in the month of December

As part of a series of heritage exhibitions planned to showcase rich and varied cultural legacy of different regions of the State, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages will hold Jammu Heritage Exhibition in December. “The exhibition will portray rich and diverse heritage of Jammu through art, craft, costume, paintings, household items, images, paintings and memorabilia”, said Secretary Academy, Kahalid Bashir Ahmad. Pertinently, the first of the three exhibitions was held at Srinagar on September 18th and 19th 2013. Inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the exhibition gave an in-depth view of the rich heritage of Kashmir as most of the displayed objects had faded away from the cultural scene or people’s memory.
