Over 14.6 lakh voters will decide the fate of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in the second phase of polling on Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat on Wednesday. Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad Tuesday filed his nomination papers from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat and also declared his family’s movable and immovable assets worth 4.14 crores. In the long list of assets Azad declared that on July 5, 1994 he had acquired  2.5 acres of agricultural piece of  land in Washim district of Vidharbha in Maharashtra by sale deed under survey no 461. Significantly Azad who had contested 2006 by polls in Jammu and Kashmir and later Assembly polls in 2008, Rajya Sabha polls in 2009  had concealed this crucial piece of information. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad today filed his nomination papers for Udhampur-Doda parliamentary constituency. Mr Azad, accompanied by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, JKPCC Chief Saif-ud-Din Soz and other senior leaders from Congress and National Conference filed his nomination papers. BJP candidate Jitendra Singh, JKNPP candidate Bhim Singh and others had already filed their nominations for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat. Scrutiny of nominations for Udhampur parliamentary Constituency will be held on March 27 while last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 29. Voting will be held on April 17.
