The devastating flood in Srinagar has not left thousands of people shelter less but it has also washed away crucial data in different state govt offices which were marooned in flood water for over one long week.  According to official sources starting with civil secretariat complex, High court building, police control room, PHQ, several other state govt run offices, Central govt offices were completely submerged in water and at various places the computer systems and files kept in record rooms have been completely destroyed.  There are remote chances of retrieving any data from these offices which remained submerged in deep waters, official sources said. Dr Harsh Vardhan assures J&K of full central support Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister, has asked for additional consignments of emergency medicines to be despatched to Jammu where the destruction of property and marooning of people has acquired great proportions. #JKFloods: Over 1.42 lakh People Rescued So Far By Armed Forces

Water Suction Pumps And Generator Sets Transported To The Valley Over 1,42,000 persons have been rescued so far by the Armed Forces and NDRF from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir in the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the flood ravaged State. Thirteen tonnes of water purifying tablets and six water filtration plants with a capacity to filter 1.2 lakh bottles per day has already reached Srinagar. Engineering stores including suction pumps from Vishakhapatnam have reached to flood affected area. Twelve sewage pumps from Delhi have also been dispatched to the valley. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday the Jammu and Kashmir floods that have killed around 125 people were “national-level disaster”,  while offering an assistance of Rs. 1,000 crore to the state government for relief and rehabilitation work.
