The latest report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India ended March 31, 2013 has revealed that the detailed project report prepared by Indian National Trust for Art and culture Heritage (INTACH) was rejected by the technical advisory committee on the ground that these were incomplete to the extent that no detailed drawings, estimates and other engineering details had been provided in the report. Jammu and Kashmir government today said that the prestigious Mubarak Mandi ropeway project has been awarded to the Damodar Ropeway and Infrastructure Ltd, Kolkata, with the work to be taken up in collaboration with ST Teleferik of Turkey. “Work for the construction of Mubarak Mandi Ropeway in Jammu has been awarded to Damodar Ropeway and Infrastructure Ltd Kolkata in collaboration with ST Teleferik, Turkey,” Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora, said in the state Assembly today. He was speaking on behalf of the state minister for tourism. The Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex is on the verge of fading away due to fast crumbling structures and apathetic attitude of various stakeholders responsible for restoring its pristine glory  but on Friday when Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Friday chaired the 5th Governing body meeting of the Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society (MMJHS) the expert panel discussed matters pertaining to shifting of LT/HT lines and substation from the complex to the new identified site. The Chief Minister said that after ascertaining the feasibility the Power Development Department would take urgent steps in this regard. Beautification of Raghunath Bazaar in Limbo, But CM claims Work going on Apace

While chairing a meeting of the District Development Board in Jammu Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday informed the participants that the restoration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex and beautification of Raghunath Bazar are going on apace. “I have provided ₹ 50 lakh last year for the beautification of Raghunath Bazar and same amount would be provided this year”, he said adding that additional amount to complete this project would be earmarked as per its requirement. The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said a detailed project report has been prepared for preservation of historic Samba Fort in the state which will cost ₹ 4.95 crores. A detailed project report has been prepared to develop Samba Fort as a prominent place of tourist attraction, said Housing, Horticulture and Culture minister Raman Bhalla.
