Chhari Mubarak left ‪Jammu‬ today for Chinote temple in ‪Bhaderwah.Tomorrow, the devotees will leave Bhaderwah for ‪‎Kishtwar‬, from where Chari Mubarak will leave for Machail where devotees will perform darshan. About 600 devotees left in a cavalcade of 26 vehicles.The devotees, along with the Chari Mubarak, left the city around 8 am for Chinote temple in Bhaderwah. Atleast repair damaged School Buildings to save Children in Doda, Kishtwar

More than three months have passed when an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale shook the erstwhile district of Doda and left more than 490 school buildings damaged in the area. Since May1 at least 40 shocks, aftershocks and tremors have been reported in the area and from Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Health and Family welfare Minister visited the area but even their presence  could not make difference in the lives of local residents in the area. Doda residents continue to wait for the relief/rehabilitation package, pinning all their hopes on PM’s visit to Kishtwar

More than fifty (50) days have passed and  both the state and the centre govt are yet to provide much needed relief material to majority of quake it residents across Doda district. After seeking a central assistance to the tune of Rs 607 crore from the centre govt the state govt, till date, is waiting for the formal sanction of the relief and rehabilitation package. In the absence of any relief material the residents are forced to spend sleepless nights under the cover of plastic sheets over their heads as most of the  houses in remote villages of Doda belt have suffered extensive damages.
