Gen KT Parnaik Monday claimed they have already advised Indian govt over the issue of partial revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act claiming that the final decision was to be taken by them He however, explained there is no need to disempower army by partially revoking the law from the state of J&K in view of the fragile security situation and coming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls. Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General KT Parnaik Monday claimed that  the Indian army had not compromised its defences or dismantled any structures  at the time of resolving the face off  with the  Chinese Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) in the Daulat Beg Oldi sector in Ladakh.   Addressing a media conference in the Northern Command headquarters on Monday, Lt Gen Parnaik said,”The disengagement and de-escalation at Depsang/DBO was done without any compromise. Millitants planning to strike Amarnath yatra: Lt. Gen Parnaik

GOC-in-C Northern Command Lt Gen KT Parnaik  has warned security forces that some of the militant groups were planning to strike the Amarnath yatra starting from June 29. The army officer said  even though we are receiving intelligence inputs but at the same time it is very difficult to predict the timing and the exact planning of the strike by militant groups. “We do not know who will strike, from where he will come and at what time, we can only  exercise extra caution and remain in a  state of high alert”. 62% Government buildings,37% Private buildings vacated by Army/Para Military forces

Indian army and paramilitary forces have vacated 62 per cent government buildings and 37 per cent private buildings in Jammu and Kashmir in the recent years. According to official sources, a total number of 766 Government buildings were under the occupation of Paramilitary forces/Army out of which 480 buildings stand vacated,while 206 Government buildings under the occupation of Paramilitary forces and 80 buildings under the occupation of Army.   Similarly out of 2445 private buildings  under the occupation of Paramilitary forces/Army 919 buildings stand vacated. According to official sources  a total number of 1040 private buildings are under the occupation of Paramilitary forces and  486 buildings are under the occupation of Army.
