In a major embarrassment for the Jammu and Kashmir police Assistant Returning Officer, Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik Sunday directed the Station House officer, Kishtwar to lodge FIR against Superintendent Police, Kishtwar for allegedly misbehaving with him and creating hindrances in the discharge of election duties.
According to official sources, Assistant Returning Officer vide letter no ARO-51-K/2014/230-37 dated 20-4-2014 directed the SHO, Kishtwar to lodge FIR against Sanjay Kotwal, SP Kishtwar as he misbehaved with him at the time of discharging election duties.
In his complaint ARO-51 Kishtwar has claimed that SP, Kishtwar threatened him in front of more than 200 people at the helipad while he was receiving poll parties along with election material.
According to him SP Kishtwar was creating hindrances throughout the election process and also misbehaved with him in a meeting earlier.
It may be mentioned here ARO was present at the helipad to receive polling parties from remote areas of Madwah, Dacchan and Wadwan.The area witnessed brisk polling on April 17 in the second phase of polling. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is locked in a straight contest with BJP candidate Dr Jitendra Singh.
