Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Shubham Khajuria on Thursday played his debut Youth ODI match against Sri Lanka-A.
Shubham scored 52 runs in the first Youth test while in the second test he managed to score 36 and 15 runs in 2 innings.
India registered its first victory on the tour of SriLanka winning the 2nd Youth ODI by 22 runs.
In 2nd match, the India U-19 team, after deciding to bat and then bundled out the host for 218 in 47 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
In the third match, India U-19 team bundled out the host for a mere 137 runs. Right arm off-break bowler Sarfaraz Khan(7.1 ov, 27 runs, 4 wkts) and Slow left arm Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav(7 ov, 16 runs, 3 wkts) bowled impressive spells.
Debutant Shubham Khajuria with Akhil Herwadkar made a first wicket partnership of 43 runs before Herwadkar bowled out lbw by Tyronne. At lunch, India Under-19s need 95 runs with 9 wickets in 39.5 overs.
Shubham Khajuria was the highest run scorer from Indian side. He scored 34 runs in 65 balls before he caught byMendis on Pereira’s bowling. Samson and Mohd. Saif remained not out at 31 runs and 22 runs respectively.
India won the match comprehensively by 7 wickets with103 balls remaining and series by 2-0.
