The ongoing cold wave has taken a heavy toll on the minor children of Pancheri in Udhampur district with as many as seven alleged Pneumonia deaths have been reported in the area.
Seven children reportedly died due to Pneumonia in Udhampur
According to official sources, at least seven children developed acute symptoms of Pneumonia and reportedly died along with one village elder before timely medical assistance reached them.
The exact date and time of death of children could not be ascertained immediately as senior district authorities are also awaiting detailed information from ground zero.
Unconfirmed reports reaching Udhampur district headquarters claimed that few more villagers are suffering from severe cold and may require immediate medical assistance to survive.
According to official sources, following these reports of alleged Pneumonia deaths the Chief Medical officer has decided to rush his team of doctors to the area to immediately provide help to the needy villagers.
BMO,Pancheri GL Dogra said, a team of four doctors has been constituted to provide medical assistance to the needy villagers.
