Security Forces buckled up to ensure incident free Amarnath Pilgrimage

Ahead of the Amarnath Yatra this year security forces  have started pulling up their socks to ensure incident free yatra.

After making preliminary assessment of the total security deployment along the yatra route from Lakhanpur to the base camps in South kashmir and along the yatra track on two different routes via Pahalgam and Baltal, the security forces have prepared a blue print of the yatra plan.

Amarnath CaveAccording to official sources, Inspector General of Jammu range Rajesh Kumar Thursday  chaired a high level meeting of senior police central intelligence, CRPF and other agencies and discussed in detail the necessary security ‘bandobast’ to ensure incident free pilgrimage starting from Jnue 28 this year.

According to official sources, over 2 lakh pilgrims have already registered themselves to perform  the pilgrimage at various centres across the country.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine board authorities have also geared up its men and machinery to set up base camps and other facilities for those  who set up community kitchens and other camps to facilitate yatra.

Meanwhile, during the high level security review meeting detailed deliberations were held on various issues concerning the security of Yatra right from Lakhanpur to Banihal, places of lodgement centers and sites of langers .

The deployment worked out by district SSP’s, Security Wing and Traffic in Kathua, Samba, Jammu , Udhampur and Ramban was discussed and reviewed.

The assessment of intelligence Agencies was taken and threadbare discussions held on each issue.

Emphases were laid on effective coordination between the Police and Civil Administration and between the Officers of Police, Security, Traffic and Magistracy being deployed on ground. It was decided in the meeting that Joint Yatra Control Rooms would be established in each District to deal with the issues relating to Yatra.

Number of Reception and Information Centres would be established enroute for educating the Yatris and providing them first-hand information about the routes and lodgement available for accommodation at various places. The main reception Centre would be at Lakhanpur, Kunjwani and Railway Station.
 
The traffic arrangements worked out and being put in place from Lakhanpur to Banihal Tunnel were also discussed and the areas which require special care were highlighted and concerned asked to take special care of these areas.
 
The Officers who attended the meeting include IG CRPF Jammu, Dy. Commissioner , SB Jammu, Asst Director  IB Jammu , DIG BSF Jammu, DIG IRP Jammu, DIG Traffic Jammu, DIG Uder-Reasi Range, DIG CID Jammu, , DIG DKR Range, DIG JSK Range, Addl.Deputy Commissioner Jammu, , SSP CID SB Jammu , SSP Samba , SSP PCR Jammu , SP Telecom Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, SSP Kathua, , SP Traffic Rural Jammu, SSP SDRF Jammu , SSP APCR Jammu, SP Jammu, SP Udhampur, SP Ramban, SP CID CI Jammu, SP Railway Jammu. Moreover, representatives of Army and intelligence agencies were also present in the meeting.
