Sajjad Kitchloo under scanner for Kishtwar violence; NC triggers row by blaming BJP,VHP,Bajrang Dal and Separatists for violence

Even as the role of National Conference MLA from Kishtwar Sajjad Kitchloo is under the scanner for Kishtwar violence the media cell of the National Conference Thursday issued a press statement claiming that Additional General Secretary kishtwar-violenceNational Conference Dr. Mustafa Kamaal received first hand information regarding recent incidents of violence at Jammu and Kishtwar instigated at the behest of communal elements in BJP, VHP and Bajgrang Dal and the separatist groups.

The statement further stated, “eye brows are being raised at the absence of a local MLC of PDP on the day of Id-ul- Fitr  who Chose to remain at Srinagar on this fateful day when communal violence erupted in Kishtwar.

Interestingly, the state govt is yet to begin probe in the matter. Even the name of the Retired High Court Judge has not been shortlisted to head the Judicial commission set up to investigate Kishtwar violence. It was not clear who in the National Conference state unit briefed Dr Mustafa Kamal and was privy to crucial developments.

It may be mentioned after the allegations of tacit involvement of Sajjad Kitchloo surfaced in Kishtwar the state govt  directed him to tender his resignation pending judicial probe in the matter.

Dr. Kamaal complimented rank and file of National Conference party in playing a leading role in restoring peace in the region especially Kishtwar in keeping with the rich secular ideals and traditions of the National Conference party so dear to its founding father Sher-e-Kashmir and others.

On this occasion he impressed upon them to be ever vigilant against these destructive forces and pre- empt any untoward incident aimed at disturbing communal and social harmony.

He directed the State Vice President Shri Rattan Lal Gupta to plan a good will delegation visit to Kishtwar to express solidarity with the locals cutting across party and religious lines.
