Rahul Gandhi cancels Doda visit due to ‘bad weather’

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Chenab region has been cancelled due to bad weather and has arrived now in Srinagar.

Rahul Gandhi landed at Air Force Station Udhampur today where he was received by Air Vice Marshal Jasbir Walia, VM VSM, Air Officer Commanding Jammu & Kashmir, and Group Captain Devendrea P Hirani, Station Commander Air Force Station Udhampur and other civilian dignitaries. He was scheduled to review the relief measures for earthquake victims in the region. Due to inclement weather his visit was cancelled and further he took off for Srinagar.

However, he had to divert to Srinagar. He landed in Srinagar around 11 AM  and drove to Nehru Guest House. And then he reached Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) headquarters on Moulana Azad Road and interacted with party leaders. 

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will visit Budgam on Saturday to inaugurate ‘Umeed’, a Rs 900 crore programme dedicated to skill development for women.Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will also attend the meeting.

Rahul Gandhi is accompanied by Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh and PCC Chief Saifuddin Soz.
