35 seats to PDP, 17 to BJP and NC each, 11 to Congress
Former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Prof Amitabh Mattoo, currently associated with The University of Melbourne has predicted that Peoples Democratic Party stand to gain maximum seats in the forthcoming Assembly polls in the state.
Sharing his assessment on his facebook profile with his followers Prof Mattoo has claimed that PDP would win close to 35 Assembly seats while BJP is expected to come second by winning 17 Assembly seats in the 2014 Assembly polls.
Commenting on the fate of National Conference in the coming polls Prof Mattoo has stuck his neck out by claiming that the ruling party in the state is expected to retain 17 seats while congress would be winning minimum number of 11 seats.
According to Prof Mattoo 7 seats would go to the kitty of other political parties and independents in the 87 member state assembly.
While predicting the outcome of the Assembly polls Prof Amitabh Mattoo has assumed there would be no pre-poll alliances or any tactical voting.
He also claims this forecast is deliberately conservative towards PDP and BJP, assuming that there is a non-trivial swing towards the NC because of its populist schemes and less of a Modi-wave.
