An organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits,Panun Kashmir, monday demanded revocation of Article 370, saying it is a major hindrance in the “emotional integration” of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of country.
“Time has come for the removal of Article 370. It has been a major stumbling block in the emotional integration of the state with the rest of India,” Panun Kashmir president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said.
He said the law, which grants special autonomous status to J&K, has created feeling of separatism among a certain section.
“The Article has helped radicalise the thinking amongst a section of population that Kashmir is a supra-separate entity. The nationalist forces in the state have been marginalised as a consequence of this temporary article,” he alleged.
