After targeting jawans of the Indian army posted in the forward areas along the line of control the Pakistani troops have now trained their guns on the BSF jawans posted along the International border in Jammu region. On Monday afternoon a BSF jawan was injured in firing from across Indo-Pak border in Samba district.
“There was snipper firing from across the border at around 15:55 hours and a BSF jawan posted at Narainpur Border Out Post (BOP) area in Ramgarh sector was hit by a bullet on his chest.
Official sources said at least two rounds of snipper were fired from Pakistan side and the bullets hit Head Constable Ram Niwas Meena of 200 Battalion.
The Jawan has been admitted to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital and is stated to be in stable condition. There was no firing from BSF troops, the officer said. On July 1 a fidayeen was blown in to pieces when he attempted to cross the LoC in a bid to target the forward Indian post in Mendhar sector of Poonch and was killed when Indian troops opened fire. The suspected fidayeen had planted explosives on his body and the same explosives were set off in the firing blowing him in to pieces.
