Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Monday chaired a meeting of senior officers, ministers at civil secretariat complex under the cover of darkness.
As the dewatering work is still going on inside the complex the power lines could not be restored even on Monday.
The govt had earlier announced to throw open the secretariat on September 18 but due to water logging on the first floor the state govt employees could not reach their offices.
Chief Minister also visited Assembly complex along with the team of senior employees of the state assembly secretariat and Speaker Mubarak Gul and took stock of the damages.
Barring Urban and Housing Minister Rigzin Zora Chief Minister was accompanied by senior National Conference Ministers AR Rather, Ali Mohd Sagar, Ch Mohd Ramzan, Sakina Ittoo.
During the meeting Omar directed the concerned departments to further intensify the efforts so that normal functioning of these institutions takes place as early as possible.
In the wake of strong criticism from different quarters over the absence of state govt machinery in flood affected areas the Chief Minister directed the officers to gear up the men and machinery at all levels to reach out to the affected people in all flood hit areas. He said more attention should be paid for dewatering of water logged areas particularly Srinagar city.
