NC legislator from Mendhar Javed Rana Wednesday accused speaker of the state assembly Kavinder Gupta of taking orders from Nagpur headquarters of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to run the state assembly.
Rana also accused the PDP of bending on its knees for the sake of forming an alliance with the BJP.
Rana made these allegations after he was denied an opportunity to speak on the motion of grants of the Finance department in the house.
Rana had also provoked strong reaction from BJP and PDP legislators in the question hour on wednesday. Rana had called speaker Kavinder Gupta a BJP speaker and Hindu Speaker in the second sitting before staging a walk out from the house after he was disallowed by the speaker to participate in the discussion on budget.
Ranas’ remakrs came under sharp criticism from several senior members of the house who claimed speaker is the custodian of the house and there was no scope to berate his chair by passing lewd remarks.
BJP legislators also demanded his expulsion from the house for showing disrespect to the chair and speaking unparliamentary language.
CPI(M) MLA MY Tarigami and Leader of the congress party Nawang Rigzin Zora also condemned the remarks of NC legislator. Leader of the opposition Omar Abdullah however maintained silence in the house nor defended his party MLA on the floor of the Assembly.
Speaking to reporters outside the state assembly Javed Rana said he was denied permission by the speaker to raise the issues of common masses on the floor of the house, He said he was denied permission on Tuesday as well while all others from BJP and PDP were allowed to speak.
He claimed by not allowing them to speak the speaker was apparently trying to run the agenda of the RSS on directions from Nagpur. He said the speaker has failed to run the house as per rules of procedure and must take lessons.
Rana said he had no intention to show disrespect to the chair. He however, maintained speaker was behaving as an agent of the party and was promoting agenda of Hindutva.
