On December 1 when BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was addressing a mammoth rally in MAM stadium, Jammu attended by approximately over 80,000 people the state Chopper hovered over the venue of the rally and after some time when the rally got over Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had posted aerial shot of the venue of the rally on the micro blogging site Twitter.
The sole purpose of posting the picture was to question the claims made by the BJP leaders over the total turnout at the venue.
In their speeches both the senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi had expressed their gratitude to the people of the state for turning up in large numbers and bestowing them with the sight which no leader worth its name has ever seen in the recent history of the state.
In his post Omar had also mocked the BJP leadership for exaggerating the total numbers present in the rally. The total strength of people had sent shock waves in the corridors of power as more than 80,000 people had assembled in the stadium before the arrival of Modi and cheered him shouting nationalist slogans.

Omar Abdullah may not remember that on November 10, 2012 while addressing the party convention in the Sher-e-Kashmir bhawan he had directed the party machinery to organise mega rally in Jammu on December 16 to register their presence.
Much to the chagrin on the National Conference workers the same rally is yet to take place. Ironically, Omar in his own words had stated on November 10, 2012 that the National Conference would hold an ‘unprecedented’ rally to register its strength in Jammu region.
The National Conference rally would be biggest ever show of strength unseen in the recent history of the state, Omar had stated then.
In a veiled reference to PDP Omar had also announced, “Woh Aise Taassur Denay Ki Koshish Kar Rahey Hain Kay Unka Taara Chad Raha Hai Aur Hamara Taara Utar Raha Hai….Woh Doosra Masla Hai Kay Kashmir Mein Unkay Pairon Kay Neechay Say Zameen Khisak Rahi Hai,,,Iss Waaste 16 December Ko Hum Ek Aisi Maharally Karengay Jo Ab Tak Kisi Nay Dekhi Nahin Hogi….”
He added the rally would invigorate the party cadre in theregion also besides achieving the main objective of creating awareness among the people about achievements of the party on the ground in all these years of peace and development.Ironically, Omar’s words wisdom turned out to be true as one year has passed and the party machinery is no where closer to organising such a mammoth rally in Jammu.
