Modi cannot become Prime Minister of India: Saif Ud Din Soz

Former Union Minister and President of the Pradesh Congress committee Prof Saif Ud Din Soz sunday claimed that as per the mood of the people across India Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi cannot become leader no. 1 or the Prime Minister of India.

Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of  a party function in Jammu Prof Soz said India is a grand democracy and its foundations are strong due to its pluralism and secularism. Sharing his personal assessment and speaking on behalf of the Congress Prof Soz claimed that keeping in mind the mood of the people across the country Modi won’t be able to become the leader no 1.soz

Prof Soz also maintained that the much hyped food security bill would be implemented here in the state of J&K as well at any cost.

As head of the coordination committee i will convene a meeting of both the alliance partners and ensure its implementation in the state. Highlighting the  features of the National Food Security Ordinance Prof Soz said it is the land mark step of the Congress led UPA government to ensure legal guarantee to provide adequate quantity of quality food at affordable prices to the people which would  benefit more than 81 crore population in the country.

Prof. Soz said that after ensuring Job Guarantee to the poor people under MGNREGA Act, this is another unique initiative of the Congress party to give legal right to the countrymen through a legislation for  food at affordable prices. This will cover 75% of rural  and 50% of urban population of the country and the entire additional financial burden would be borne by the centre government.

Soz was addressing a party function at Shastri Nagar in Jammu, organized to pay tributes to Shri Mohan Lal Sharma on his 5th death anniversary.Lal served the party for a long time as President BCC Gandhi Nagar-Jammu. Prof. Soz said that Congress party has the vision for the welfare and upliftment of each section of the society and for ensuring the overall progress and prosperity of the country, which has emerged as a major economy in the World. It is only the Congress party which can bring such revolutionary steps like Food Security Law, MGNREGA and Right to Information which have transformed the working of the democracy in the country.

Prof. Soz said that Congress party has emerged a vibrant force in all three regions of the state and there is positive change in the mindset and the mood of the people in Kashmir valley also because of the policies and programmes of the Congress led UPA government resulting into massive developmental activities in the state. He said that his perception and understanding of the situation is that Congress would emerge as the largest party in the next assembly elections.
