Omar Abdullah-Madan Lal

Let us all vote to strengthen the hands of ‘Rajiv Gandhi’, Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh: JKNC media cell

Some thing is seriously wrong with the media cell of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference.

On Monday the media cell of the party quoted Omar Abdullah having stated in an election rally in Rajouri district ,“Let us all vote the joint candidates of NC and Congress in the Parliamentary Elections and strengthen the hands of Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rajiv Gandhi and give a message to the Country that the people of Jammu and Kashmir do not forget their friends”.

The media cell also released a picture of the public rally addressed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in support of the alliance candidate Madan Lal Sharma.

Interestingly, 50 minutes after the first press note was circulated by the National Conference media cell at 4.43 p.m. a revised press note landed in the mail box of media persons around 5.34 p.m.

The press note carried the same quote of Omar Abdullah and no other major additions or subtractions were made in the original press note. After about three hours around 8.31 p.m same press note  was once again circulated to the media persons. The subject of the press note carried REVISED tag but the correction was not made in the original press note.

Interestingly, the same press was circulated once again at 8.40 p.m. After a gap of 20 minutes at 9.00 p.m the press note was finally EDITED by the JKNC media cell and the Chief Ministers quote was also edited. Finally, the name of Rajiv Gandhi was replaced with Rahul Gandhi in the press note.

“Let us all vote the joint candidates of NC and Congress in the Parliamentary Elections and strengthen the hands of Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi and give a message to the Country that the people of Jammu and Kashmir do not forget their friends”.

To ensure that the media carried the edited press note the JKNC media cell circulated the same press note once again at 9.07 p.m.
