Mr Singh and Mr Vinod kohli both general secretaries JKCCC, said that the Ministers/MLA’s of the coalition Government only lays stress on laying the foundation stones of the new works and puts pressure on the Engineers and contractors for the timely completion of the work, without getting it sanctioned/approval from the competent authority , but never bothered about how the payments shall be made to the contractors. Citing number of cases of the delayed payments, the agitating contractors said that there are many cases where the payments to the contractors are not been made for 4 to 5 years despite the completion of work by the contractors and take over of the possessions of the work/project by the department.
JKCCC warns the Sate govt that if the arrested contractors were not released and the payments of the contractors are not released immediately then both JKCCC Kashmir and Jammu will start agitation at both the places and will stop all the developmental works and will not allow any MLA or Minister of the coalition government to start new work or inaugurate the completed work without clearing the work done liabilities of the contractors.
