Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah has sanctioned Rs. One lakh compensation for the braveheart ITBP officer Bhim Singh, who has lost his life while saving pilgrims in flood ravaged Uttarakhand.
Bhim Singh, serving as Inspector in ITBP was recently sent on deputation to the National Disaster Relief Force and was stationed at Noida when he was rushed to take part in the rescue operations in Uttarakhand.
The brave ITBP officer hailing from Bobiyan village in Kathua district of Jammu region was among the 20 deceased personnel who were present on board the IAF rescue chopper which crashed in Kedarnath valley last week during a rescue mission in the flood-ravaged hill state.
The Chief Minister in a condolence message to the family of the deceased has also conveyed his sympathy and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
