Governor may have performed exclusive pooja but pilgrims facing hardships due to lack of coordination between various agencies.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today paid obeisance at holy Amarnath shrine on the opening day of two-month-long yatra which commenced from Baltal today.

The Chairman of the Amarnath Shrine Board Authorities Governor NN Vohra after performing pooja inside the Amarnath cave shrine on Saturday may have extended thanks to various state govt agencies for assisting and cooperating in the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage but if pilgrims who visited the holy cave after the visit of VVIP’s are to be believed lack of coordination between various agencies added to their miseries during the arduous trek to the cave shrine.

So much so even the security personnel representing different agencies were intolerant enough and entered in to verbal brawl ahead of the visit of Governor to the cave shrine.

According to official sources lack of coordination between CRPF and state police force led to inconvenience to large number of pilgrims at the cave shrine.

The doctors who had set up camp in the area of cave shrine complained that they have been stationed there in advance sans life saving drugs. They said if the authorities had deferred the yatra via Pahalgam route they could have delayed it for few more days via Baltal route as well and completed the necessary arrnagements for the smooth conduct of the yatra.

Overpricing of food products and water bottles enroute the yatra base camps is another issue which pilgrims raised on way back after performing the darshan. a water bottle is being sold at Rs 60 and pack of juice @ Rs 40 without any check on the over pricing.

Significantly, even the media persons were denied entry barring select few from TV news channels to video graph the happenings at the cave shrine.
