Faulty CCTVs to be repaired soon across Jammu: ADGP Vaid

Additional Director General of Police(Headquarters) Dr SP Vaid Monday set the deadline to complete the repair work of faulty CCTV’s  across Jammu.

Interacting with the media persons after reviewing security arrangements at the GRP Jammu, Dr Vaid also urged general public to remain vigilant in the wake of prevailing security situation.

Raghunath-templeDr Vaid said to strengthen the infrastructure for GRP in Jammu region a proposal at the highest level was submitted to the Union Home Ministry and recently the railway authorities had received certain guidelines to expedite the work on creating infrastructure for GRP force in Jammu.

He said the railway line is running parallel to the International border at a distance of 5-6 kms and efforts have been made in the past by the militant to infiltrate through the International border and strike. He said in this regard we all need to increase our level of alertness and remain vigilant to prevent similar strikes.

He said the Jammu railway station and Raghunath temple, have been targeted by the militants  in the past so there is need to maintain high alert to prevent similar strikes.

 He said the CCTV’s across Jammu would be repaired in a span of next 15-30 days and directions have been passed to install fresh CCTv’s wherever required to strengthen the security grid.

The meeting at GRP, Jammu was attended by Army, CRPF, BSF and others. ADG (Hq) inspected several parts of GRP Lines Jammu including Mess, Barrack etc and asked the concerned to improve the condition of the same.
