Ex-Army Chief VK Singh responds to notice of J&K assembly speaker

Former Army Chief General(retd) VK Singh Tuesday replied to the notice issued to him by the Speaker of the J&K Assembly Mubarak Gul in connection with the allegations of pay-offs to ministers in the state.

It is on October 25  Speaker of the state assembly Mubarak Gul had issued a notice to former Army Chief Gen V K Singh to explain his position on his allegation of pay-off to a minister in the state. “…He (Singh) has been asked to explain his position regarding certain revelations made by him during the course of an interview to a Delhi-based news channel on September 23,” an Assembly spokesperson said.  

The notice was issued in response to a privilege motion moved against him by 15 ministers and MLAs.

According to a spokesman of Legislative Assembly, the Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul has said that he has received a copy of the reply from General (Retd.) V. K. Singh, former Chief of Army Staff along with a CD today.

This, according to the spokesman, was in response to the breach of privilege notice received by him from some Ministers/Members of the House.

According to the spokesman, the reply would be examined by him for deciding further course of action in the matter.
