Drama Artists demand Duggar Channel

A deputation of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists’ Association (DADAA) called on Member Parliament, Jammu Poonch Constituency, Madan Lal Sharma yesterday. Led by President, DADAA Jagdish Singh Babli, the deputation apprised the MP regarding hardships being faced by the approved Drama Artists of Door Darshan Kendra (DDK), Jammu.

Speaking on dogri-channelthe occasion, Babli alleged that the approved Drama Artists of Jammu are jobless for the last two years, due to the negligence of the present Director, DDK Jammu and his subordinate staff.

The association demanded the present working staff of DDK, Jammu may be replaced with the dogri knowing staff, for the proper projection and development of the Dogri culture, which is facing step motherly treatment these days. The association appealed to Sharma for projecting their demand of ‘Duggar Channel’ on the pattern of Kashir Channel to the Central Government, authorities of Prasaar Bharti and the union Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

Sharma gave a patience hearing and assured the deputationists for redressal of their genuine demands. He further assured him that he will leave no stone unturned for setup of Duggar Channel at the pattern of Kashir Channel, as it is the demand of people of Jammu region.

Prominent among the artists who were part of the deputation included Janak khajuria, Sandesh Vir, Madan Rangila, Susham Sharma, Subash Singh Jamwal, Uttam Singh Uttam , Arun Bakshi, Vijay Magotra, Harbans Sharma, Surinder Goel and others.
