Putting all speculations to rest, Congress on Tuesday said, it would go all alone in 2014 elections, and would not ally with National conference, ‘as cadres of the party were not happy with the incumbent dispensation. Leaders of Congress party said that party will contest the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections schedule in 2014 on its own “without any alliance or understanding with any other party”.
In a joint statement issued by Former Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma, Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLA Ramban Mastar Ashok Kumar, Former Chairman Handicrafts and MLA Haji Abdul Rashid, Chief Executive Counsiller Kargil Hill Development Authority Asgar Karbalaey, MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma, MLC Jahangir Mir, MLC Subash Gupta, Ex Minister Mula Ram, Ex Minister Haji Nissar Ali, Ex Minister Garu Ram, Ex Minister Dr Ramesh Chander Sharma, Ex Minister Yogesh Sahney, Ex Minister Ghulam Raza, Former MLC Mohammad Amin Bhat, Former MLC Ali Mohd Bhat, General Secretary Pradesh Youth Congress R S Pathania, General Secretary JKPCC Vinod Sharma, Secretary JKPCC Thakur Jughal Bhandari, District President Kupwara Mohammad Amin Khan, District President Baramulla Mir Mushtaq, District President Ganderbal Hassan Rather, PCC Member Brij Mohan, PCC Secretary Geeta Khajuira and others said that Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir would contest Lok Sabha and Assembly polls alone.
“Congress party caders and people in general are not happy with Omar led government and they welcome the decision of Former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and J&K Pradesh Congress Committee chief Saif-ud-Din Soz, while addressing a public gathering in South Kashmir’s Shangas made it clear that Congress will go alone in the polls schedule in 2014”, Congress Leaders added.
Leaders said that the congress will alone contest 2014 elections in the state and will win all the seats on its own credential, because the people are well aware about their rights and they cannot be befooled any more. The much hipped autonomy and self rule have lost the credential and have been rejected by the people of state as well country.
“We will contest the 2014 elections of our own. No alliance and no pre-poll arrangements”, they added that the party cadres were disappointed with the Govt. on all fronts.
The congress leaders maintained that Congress is ready to go alone to fight next year elections and next Chief Minister will be from Congress party.
“Our cadres are disappointed at every front. Be it, the development front or the political front, they feel ignored.” Leaders said.
The Congress leaders said party workers are of the opinion that the Congress candidates have better chances of winning in both Jammu and Kashmir provinces. “We are now in strong position in Jammu and Kashmir as well”.
