“The state police is working directing under the command of Home Minister and if the police has failed to register FIR in the case why not accountability should also be fixed in the matter”,Mehbooba told reporters.
She said it a very serious issue and we are waiting to see whether the Chief Minister would act against the Congress minister and put him behind the bars.
Questioning the functioning of the police department Mehbooba said, “the lady doctor, victim of alleged sexual assault, went around police station to register her compliant but the same was denied for last eight days.It is the court which has directed the police to register the FIR, she added.
Mehbboba said if police can deny justice to a doctor, considered very noble profession, one can very well imagine the plight of poor girls facing similar harassment.
She said her party would forcefully take up the matter and take alliance govt head on on the floor of the state legislature during the Budget session beginning February 10,2014.
