In a virtual snub to the senior alliance partner National Conference JKPCC Chief Prof Saif Ud Din Soz Friday said the congress party has learnt lessons during the Lok Sabha polls in J&K and wisdom says that we don’t repeat mistakes.
Responding to a straight question of a media person whether the congress party is going to forge any pre-poll alliance with the National Conference ahead of 2014 Assembly polls after failing to win even a sinlge Lok Sabha seat in J&K Prof Soz said it is too early to comment on the issue of forming any alliance.
He said the congress party will take a decision which suits its future. We have learnt lessons and wisdom is that we don’t repeat mistakes.
The statement by Prof Soz is considered very important as it comes on the eve of
arrival of J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and former Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah in Jammu for a day long workers convention.
After facing the defeat the National Conference is busy doing introspection at the highest level ahead of taking a final call on the issue of fighting Assembly polls in alliance.
Section of leadership in the National Conference has also opposed any future ties with the Congress as they believe National Conference too paid heavy price in the Lok Sabha polls by siding with the congress. The mood in the state unit of the congress is also anti National Conference as the state leaders have expressed their reservations to the senior party leaders during internal parleys warning against any pre poll alliance with the National Conference.
