With Pakistani troops repeatedly shelling border areas, authorities have advised villagers living along the Indo-Pak border in Samba district to remain vigilant and stay indoors. “People (of border hamlets along International Border) should remain vigilant. Villagers are advised to stay indoors and at safer places during cross border shelling”, minister for industries and commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga said. Ganga visited villages of Samba district which were hit by cross border firing and assessed damages due to mortar shelling in Mawa and Bainglarg villages in Samba district on Saturday. On 25 June 2015  Sector Cdr level  meeting was held on IB to celebrate Baba chamliyal mela in which  sector Cdr Pak Ranger Wasim Jaffar Bhatti and  Wing Cdr Md Ali along with  12 officer of Pak Rangers and other dignitaries of civil administration attended the meeting from Pak side. DIG SHQ Jammu Sh B S Kasana along with 4 commandment and 9 staff officers attended the meeting. Meeting held from 1000 hrs  to 1100 hrs. Sec Cdr Wasim Bhatti offered “chadar” for shrine of Baba Chamliyal and own side handed over sharbat and shakkar  to Rangers. Both the forces promised to make border more peaceful.

Due to shortage of fuel Border Security Force (BSF) has requested media persons in Jammu to make their own arrangements to reach Chmaliyal border village to participate and cover annual mela on June 26. On Tuesday afternoon Jammu based media persons received an invitation on behalf of DIG (G) Dharmendra Pareek requesting the media persons to reach Chamliyal on June 26 before 8.00 a.m. The BSF authorities also expressed their inability to provide conveyance facilities to the media persons to reach the border area. The tunnel was first detected by BSF with help of Local farmers in July 2012 Alert BSF jawans Friday detected some of the portion of the cross border tunnel near Chilari post, close to the International border, in Samba.
