Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board authorities readying new helipad for pilgrims

  Mata Vaishno Devi bound pilgrims would soon get the option of choosing their aerial route to reach Mata Vaishno Devi bhawan. On Friday the shrine board authorities conducted a trial run by landing helicopters at the newly constructed  helipad near Panchhi view point enroute new yatra track. The shrine board authorities have not announced any formal date of launch of services on the new route pending formal clearance from the DGCA for starting the heli services on the new route. PM is likely to inaugurate the railway line later this month Ahead of the inauguration of Udhampur -Katra rail section in Jammu and Kashmir, a train on a trial run reached Katra, the base camp of Mata Vaishnodevi shrine. The train from New Delhi on Wednesday reached holy town of Katra ahead of the inauguration of the Udhampur -Katra rail section in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the railway line later this month. A devotee of Mata Vaishno Devi, 35 year old Raj Bala  hailing from Meerut sunday afternoon climbed the 13 km trek with great difficulty. While she was standing in the queue to perform darshan she experienced labour pain and before doctors from the nearby dispensary were rushed to the spot women standing in the queue helped her deliver a healthy boy near gate no 3 in the bhawan shrine. The much-delayed train service to Katra, the base camp to the famous Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, has missed another deadline and will not be ready for commissioning by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when he visits Jammu next week. The flagging of a train to Katra from Udhampur to cover the 25-km long stretch was kept in the tentative schedule of the Prime Minister after initial assurances from the Railways that the line will be ready for commissioning, official sources said today.
