BJP warns state-wide agitation over Rajouri issue

While expressing serious concern over the developments in Rajouri, BJP has blamed the administration for the stalemate in resolving the issue resulting from disruption of Ramleela by certain mischievous elements belonging to a majority community.   BJP state president Jugal Kishore Sharma, saturday, warned that if the administration fails to take appropriate action, the party will be forced to resort to more aggressive and state-wide agitation from Monday after the culmination of Dusshera festival. Gujjars, Bakerwals start seasonal migration in J&K

Gujjars and Bakerwals nomadic tribes have begun their bi-annual seasonal migration to the upper reaches of Shivalik, Perpanchal and Trikuta Hills of the Himalayas a few days ahead of their routine schedule due to unusual rise in the daily temperature in the northern States, including Jammu and Kashmir.  A handout by the Tribal Research And Cultural Foundation, an organisation working for the Gujjars, has impressed upon various organisations working for tribals in the State to mobilise resources for providing necessary logistics to migratory tribes. Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 4 held

As a part of drive against Bovine smugglers to curb the smuggling of Bovine animals, Rajouri Police seized bovine animals in two separate raids at different place under the jurisdiction of Kalakote and Dharmsaal Police Stations today. Reports said that Kalakote Police intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing Registration No. 1762/JK02AN and seized 04 animals from the vehicle besides arrested two smugglers namely (1) Israr Ahmed S/O Kala Khan R/O Kotedhara (2) Abdul Majid S/O Noor Mohd R/O Kotedhara. In this connection case FIR No.25/2013, U/S 188/RPC, 3/PCA Act has been registered in P/S Kalakote. Indian Army returned Pakistani soldier’s body

The Indian Army returned the dead body of Pakistani soldier, who was killed in a firefight after he had crossed the Line of Control in the Nowshera sub-sector, with ‘military respects’ on Friday evening. Defence Spokesperson said that Indian troops at Laam post in Rajouri sector observed suspicious movement along the Indian side of LC. On being challenged by a patrol party, the infiltrator opened indiscriminate fire injuring two Jawans.In the ensuing encounter the infiltrator was killed and one AK-56 rifle along with some other warlike stores recovered.
