Govt hikes relief to migrants from hilly areas of Jammu at par with Kashmiri migrants. Now monetary assistance will be Rs 2500, up from Rs 40. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved the proposal for providing relief to the migrants of Hilly areas of Jammu division, at par with the relief being provided to Kashmiri migrants, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh said. Army Commander apprises J&K Governor on security situation

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, Lt Gen DS Hooda today called on Governor N N Vohra and apprised him of the security situation in the State. They discussed various matters relating to border management, along the International Border(IB), Line of Control (LoC) and Line of Actual Control (LAC), an official spokesman said. No influence of IS ideology in Kashmir: DGP J&K

The State Police today ruled out any influence of Islamic State in Kashmir Valley in the wake of terror attacks claimed by the global terror outfit in Paris. “We do not find any ISIS ideology (being followed) in Jammu and Kashmir,” Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, K Rajendra Kumar told reporters here today.
