Indian Army returned Pakistani soldier’s body

The Indian Army returned the dead body of Pakistani soldier, who was killed in a firefight after he had crossed the Line of Control in the Nowshera sub-sector, with ‘military respects’ on Friday evening. Defence Spokesperson said that Indian troops at Laam post in Rajouri sector observed suspicious movement along the Indian side of LC. On being challenged by a patrol party, the infiltrator opened indiscriminate fire injuring two Jawans.In the ensuing encounter the infiltrator was killed and one AK-56 rifle along with some other warlike stores recovered. Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur Mr. AK Koul today awarded seven years each rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to Babu Ram S/O Phalli and Uttam Kumar S/O Hari Chand caste Gadhi Residents of Rasli Gadherian Tehsil Ramnagar in rape case. JKACL announces annual State Photography Awards

The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKACL ) had announced the State Photography Awards 2011. The awards instituted in 2008 are conferred in three categories carrying a cash prize of Rs 15,000, 10,000, and 7,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Apart from the three awards, four consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each are also given annually to the winners. While making the announcement Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Khalid Bashir Ahmad said that as many as 89 entries were received by the Academy for the competition. 12 Passengers Injured in Bus Accident at Kathua

Twelve people were injured when a bus in which they were travelling hit a mountain at a sharp carve in Kathua district. The bus, on its way from Bani area to Kathua, hit the mountain when the driver lost control of the vehicle at a sharp curve near Thein Dam area in the district last night, officials said. In the mishap, 12 persons were injured and have been shifted to Kathua district hospital, they said.
