J&K CM Omar sanctioned Rs1 lakh compensation for the braveheart Bhim Singh

Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah has sanctioned Rs. One lakh compensation for the braveheart ITBP officer Bhim Singh, who has lost his life while saving pilgrims in flood ravaged Uttarakhand. Bhim Singh, serving as Inspector in ITBP was recently sent on deputation to the National Disaster Relief Force and was stationed at Noida when he was rushed to take part in the rescue operations in Uttarakhand. Why Omar Abdullah is Shying away from awarding compensation to ITBP inspector Bhim Singh??

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi flew to Amethi on Saturday and attended the cremation ceremony of IAF personal Akhilesh Pratap Singh who was one among the 20 rescue workers killed in the rescue chopper crash  in Kedarnath on Tuesday. After the cremation Rahul spent some time with the family of the deceased and offered condolences. UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also announced  20 lakh compensation to the next of kith of deceased. Several other Chief Ministers have announced adequate compensation for the next kith and kin of victims of Kedarnath rescue Chopper crash. One of the brave ITBP officer hailing from Bobiyan village in Kathua district of Jammu was among the 20 deceased personnel who were present on board the IAF  rescue chopper which crashed in Kedarnath valley on Tuesday. On the Mission of Exploring Jammu…. But got Disappointed

My friends outside Jammu always pop me the question whether there are some other places of tourist interest in Jammu other than Katra, Bagh-e-Bahu and Patnitop. To find an answer to this quest I plan short trips to adjoining areas in Jammu region. During such a similar getaway, I, Vikas along with a biker buddy ‘Aman’ happened to reach a Heriatge spot ‘Jasrota Fort’ near Kathua. Its existence to the passer-by on NH is reliant on a single board on road-side. While moving in the direction of fort, we found another nice spot ‘Ujjah Barrage’ which was inaugurated in 1980 by Sheikh Abdullah. However it was abandoned and whole structure was in shambles. Forts,Palaces etc. are sites of great historical, religious and archaeological importance. They have great architectural beauty and historical value and attract millions of visitors every year. No matter how rich was  the king,who had constructed the fort of Jasrota, no matter how rich the fort is in its architecture. But today’s reality is that it seems as  if the fort is crying for its maintenance. 12 Passengers Injured in Bus Accident at Kathua

Twelve people were injured when a bus in which they were travelling hit a mountain at a sharp carve in Kathua district. The bus, on its way from Bani area to Kathua, hit the mountain when the driver lost control of the vehicle at a sharp curve near Thein Dam area in the district last night, officials said. In the mishap, 12 persons were injured and have been shifted to Kathua district hospital, they said.
