#Udhampur: 14.6 lakh electorate to decide fate of Union min Azad in crucial Phase

Over 14.6 lakh voters will decide the fate of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in the second phase of polling on Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat on Wednesday. Azad is being challenged by BJP’s Dr Jitendra Singh. A total number of 13 candidates including Prof Bhim Singh of Panthers Party, Arshid Mailk of PDP and JKDF candidate Anil Gupta are in the fray. Army pays tribute to martyr Lance Naik V Anthony Nirmal Viji

A befitting tribute was paid to martyr Lance Naik V Anthony Nirmal Viji of Artillery Regiment, in a wreath laying ceremony conducted as per the highest traditions of Indian Army, at Pathankot Air Field. The wreath laying ceremony was attended by Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, General Officer Commanding, Rising Star Corps and other military officials. The mortal remains of Lance Naik Anthony were flown to his native place Mugiyur in Vellupuram Distt of Tamil Nadu in an IAF aircraft. Lance Naik Anthony was martyred while fighting bravely against the terrorists, who had attacked the Army Camp at Janglot, on Friday. All the three terrorists were killed in the joint Army and Police operation.Two civilians were also killed in militants attack.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad today filed his nomination papers for Udhampur-Doda parliamentary constituency. Mr Azad, accompanied by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, JKPCC Chief Saif-ud-Din Soz and other senior leaders from Congress and National Conference filed his nomination papers. BJP candidate Jitendra Singh, JKNPP candidate Bhim Singh and others had already filed their nominations for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat. Despite facing uncertain future Pakistan is bent upon provoking Indian reaction by escalating the border tension even along the International border in Jammu and kashmir. On Friday night Pak rangers, for the first time in last 10 years, targeted at least 25 border posts in Kathua, Samba, Hiranagar, RS Pura, Pargwal sectors in the biggest ever ceasefire violation.  The firing which started around 7.00 p.m continued till 4.00 a.m in the wee hours and Pak rangers used automatic weapons and mortars to target the Indian posts.
