Bahaar-e-Ghazal

‘Bahaar-e-Ghazal’ a programme of soulful Ghazal Singing by eminent Ghazal singer of the State Sham Sajan was organised here today by Indian Council For Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India at the K.L. Sehgal Hall, Abhinav Theatre Complex, Jammu under its fortnightly programme Horizon Series. The music lovers of the state were provided a rarest opportunity by the ICCR, Jammu to rejoice an engrossing, mesmerising and inspiring musical evening. Jammu, Katra get 4 new trains

In a slew of major initiatives for Jammu and Kashmir, Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today announced four new trains for Jammu including two for Katra, the base camp of holy Mata Vaishno Devi ji shrine, where the train was expected to reach in next few months, extended route of one train and increased frequency of another. He also proposed electrification of railway tracks in Jammu and said he would pursue for more routes in Jammu and Kashmir including Bilaspur-Manali-Leh and Jammu-Poonch via Akhnoor.

ICCR showcases ‘Celebrating Diversity’ in Jammu

  Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today reviewed the arrangements for the smooth conduct of 4th Jammu Marathon race scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 17. The Minister impressed upon the representatives of various agencies to maintain close liaison to make the event a success. He directed Departments of Health, Education, Police etc to put in requisite arrangements in place so that the participants don’t face any inconvenience on the occasion. Terming Polythene bags as a grave threat to the environment, Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora, today appealed to the people of Jammu not to use as an essential commodity for shopping and daily convenience. “Massive and blind usage of plastic bags and their casual disposal, both by consumers and through waste management activities, not only create environmental problems but also reinforce the perception of a wasteful society.
