IGP Jammu interacts with 31 students of far- flung areas of Doda district

IGP Jammu interacts with a group students presently on Bharat Darshan Tour from Doda District. A Group of 31 students of 6th to 10th class, drawn from various schools of backward areas of District Doda, presently on Bharat Darshan Tour, interacted with IGP Jammu Zone Mr.Rajesh Kumar and DIG Jammu Mr.Shakeel Ahmed Beigh.   They expressed their joy for being in Jammu as most of them had never come to Jammu earlier.  The Bharat Darshan Tour has been organized by Doda Police under Civic Action Programme.  Earlier many such tour programmes have been organized by J&K Police under Civic Action programme for the poor students of far flung areas. They left for next destination i.e.Amritsar, in the evening.

Div Com reviews NBCC works

To review the pace of works being executed by NBCC under the Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme for Mission City Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta on Tuesday convened a joint meeting of National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC), Urban Environment Engineering Department (UEED), SUIDA and senior officers from other allied departments. Cabinet approves 35 posts in JKSWRRA

The State Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accorded sanction to the creation of 35 posts for J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKSWRRA) for its effective functioning. The State Cabinet accorded sanction to the promotion of Ms Pushpa Devi, Director, J&K Funds Organization, a Member of the J&K Accounts Service to the Super Time Scale of the service Rs. 37400-67000 Grade Pay Rs. 10000 with effect from 12.03.2013. More Industrial Units registered in Kashmir,while More Employment Generated in Jammu: CAG

Even after registering 2346 more industrial units in Kashmir province as compared to Jammu during the last five years the total employment generated was far less in Kashmir than Jammu province,the recent CAG report has revealed.   According to the report, 3829 industrial units were registered in Kashmir province as against 1483 units in Jammu between 2007-08 and 2011-12.But when it comes to generation employment Kashmir province fell behind Jammu.   According to the CAG report  the total employment generated in Kashmir was 18062 while Jammu generated 20318 during the same period.The average employment generated by each industrial unit in Kashmir province ranged between four and five and in Jammu province ranged between 11 and 16.   Overall 5312 industrial units …

Raman Club lifts State Volleyball Championship

Beating the central team of Jammu and Kashmir Police in straight sets, the little known Raman Club today lifted the title trophy of Open State Volleyball Championship which was organised by Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in memory of Lala Daswandi Ram Daluja at MA Stadium. Young students of Sports College Jallandhar in Punjab, who represented Raman Club in the championship, trounced the departmental side of the state police 25-20, 25-20 and 25-16. Law Students protest against authorities Dilly dallying tactics

Today Students of law department held a strong protest demonstration outside the office of Vice-Chancellor for their long pending demand of amendment in passing percentage for passing the course of LLB and induction of Supplementay examination system in 4th,5th & 6th semester. The protest was led by Nitin Bakshi.While addressing the protestors, he lambasted the university authorities for using delay tactics in solving the genuine demand of students of law department and this protest will continue till the demands of students is not met out. Omar yet to hold monthly Cabinet meeting in any Remote District of Jammu Division

Ten months ago Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had proudly announced on the micro blogging site that he will take his cabinet to Tangdhar in North Kashmir. “This week I take the Cabinet to Tangdar in North Kashmir. DC Jammu visits ERA works, expresses satisfaction over pace of work

Mr. A.K. Sahu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu took a detailed tour to visit the ongoing works under different Sewerage Packages in Bhagwati Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Janipur etc. First of all he inspected the 30 MLD STP which is nearing completion. Afterwards he came to the site where the laying of 1400 mm dia trunk sewer is held up due to one of electric transmission pole. The Power development Department has started the work of shifting of existing transmission pole and it is expected that this work is likely to be completed by tomorrow evening.
